AI Mode - The Fastest Way
AI Mode is designed for those who want to get started quickly without deep technical knowledge. The system configures everything for you based on your specified business goal. It simultaneously creates both the "Ad Creation" and the associated "Ad Stop" automation, so you get a protected system right away.
How It Works
- Select your business goal.
- Provide the source (Facebook page/Instagram) and the ad account.
- Set the daily budget.
1. Goal Selection
The first step in AI Mode is defining the goal (advertising objective):
| Goal (user text) | What does it mean? | When to choose? |
|---|---|---|
| I want to drive traffic to my website | Increase click traffic | When you want to acquire website visitors |
| I want to increase my sales | Conversion optimization | When you have an online store or sell online |
| I want to promote my app | App promotion | When you have a mobile application |
| I want more reach and engagement on my posts | Engagement campaign | When you want to improve your posts' reach |
| I want to grow my Facebook following | Engagement / page likes | When you want more Facebook followers |
| I want to collect leads | Lead generation | When you collect contact information |
The goal is set once, and the AI configures the campaign objective and optimization parameters accordingly.
2. Source and Ad Account
In AI Mode, you also need to specify which Facebook page or Instagram profile's posts you want to advertise (Source), and which ad account the ads should run in (Ad Account). If you only manage one source and one ad account, these may be filled in automatically.
3. Budget Setup
In AI Mode, you need to set a daily campaign budget. This is the maximum amount spent daily across all ads launched from this automation.
Beneficiary and Payer (DSA)
For ads targeted to the European Union, as of July 10, 2023, it is mandatory to provide:
- Beneficiary: the name of the person or organization that benefits from the ad's content (e.g., the company name).
- Payer: the name of the person who pays for the ad's costs (if different from the beneficiary).
You can read about the background of this in Meta's documentation.
Optional Settings
AI Assist 🤖
The following AI features are automatically enabled in automations created by AI Mode:
- AI Creatives - Infinite∞Ad automatically generates AI-optimized ad variations from the post instead of boosting the original post. Interactions occur on the ad, not on the original post.
- Meta Advertising Policy Compliance Check - ensures no ad violating Meta policies gets launched.
- Expired Content Filter - prevents ads from being created from posts with expired content, and stops running ads once their content becomes outdated.
The AI Creatives feature is not available for the Engagement goal, because for this goal it is desirable for interactions (likes, comments, shares) to accumulate on the original post — which requires boosting the original post, not creating a new creative.
Notifications and Activity Management
In this section, you can configure how autonomously the system operates. You can specify team members who receive email notifications about successful actions, or by enabling Activity Management, you can require human approval for the automation's steps.
If you enable approval, the system will not launch any ad until someone on the team has accepted it. You can read more about how the approval process works on the Notifications and Activity Management and Waiting List pages.
Audience and Geotargeting
AI Mode automatically uses the audience settings associated with the selected source (Facebook page / Instagram profile). You can optionally override these:
Demographic Targeting
You can specify the target audience's:
- Age (minimum and maximum age),
- Gender (All / Men / Women).
Location-Based Targeting (Geotargeting)
You can specify in which countries, cities, or regions the ad should appear. You can set both targeted and excluded areas.
Special Ad Categories
If your ads relate to credit, housing rental/purchase, employment, politics, or social/societal issues, Meta requires these to be declared. If you enable this setting, you must specify the category and the affected countries.
You can read more about special ad categories and their use in Meta's documentation.
Important: This setting cannot be changed after the automation is created, and it restricts certain targeting options.
Goal-Specific Settings
The following settings only appear for certain goals.
Website / Sales Link
Enter the URL where you want to direct users who click on the ad. If the post text already contains a link, the system will automatically use it — the provided URL only takes effect if the post contains no link.
The Website / Sales Link field only appears for the Traffic and Increase Sales goals.
Conversion Setup
You need to provide the pixel or app event setting that Meta uses to measure conversions. For sales goals, this is typically the Meta Pixel and the Purchase event; for app promotion, it's the app ID and the desired event.
The Conversion Setup block only appears for the Increase Sales and App Promotion goals.
Ad Content Source
For sales campaigns, here you can specify which product catalog and product set the ad should draw from. Catalog-based ads dynamically load product data (image, price, description), so you don't need to create a separate ad for each product.
You can read more about product catalog ads in Meta's documentation.
The Ad Content Source block only appears for the Increase Sales goal.
Lead Generation Forms
For lead generation ads, here you can select which previously created lead collection form should appear on the ad. The form collects lead data directly within Meta — the user doesn't have to leave the platform.
You can read more about creating lead generation ads and managing forms in Meta's documentation.
The Lead Generation Forms block only appears for the Collect Leads goal.
What Does the AI Set Automatically?
AI Mode performs the following settings for you:
- Campaign objective based on the chosen goal.
- Ad set optimization goal.
- Placement: Advantage+ automatic placement.
- Targeting: the AI maps and creates various custom audiences to reach your target audience more effectively.
- Filters: the best possible filter conditions are automatically set.
- Tracking settings: URL parameters required for online analytics tracking are also set automatically.
Where Is AI Mode More Limited Than Manual Mode?
AI Mode does not allow detailed configuration of the following:
- Campaign name prefix and ad set name.
- Manual ad placement (only Advantage+ automatic placement is available).
- Custom audience selection (saved or custom audiences).
- Attribution window settings.
- Adding URL parameters.
- Detailed conversion location and optimization goal settings.
If you need these, choose manual "Ad Creation" automation creation, or manually edit the automation created in AI Mode afterwards.
Automations created in AI Mode — unlike manually created ones — are immediately active after saving: the system starts working right away, no separate activation is needed.
